We all have children who struggle through new maths learning because they haven’t secured fundamental prior knowledge. Some children just never seem fluent in core facts and knowledge.  One whole class intervention that is addressing this is the daily maths meeting. In this practical session, teachers will find out how this simple idea has been harnessed by schools to increase children’s access to core knowledge and ideas that they may not have had time to quite secure. This session, based on education theory and working in the real world, will give teachers the chance to consider the techniques that make maths meetings so powerful in addressing gaps in learning and aiding retention.
