This session provides interim findings from our research exploring reasons for variable attainment across Northampton Town schools. The project is ongoing until September 2019 and focuses on themes and associations within two data types: (i) publicly available information for Northampton Town wards, including data concerning Ofsted inspections, social deprivation and pupil attainment – and (ii) qualitative data from interviews with school leaders, teachers and support staff. Findings to date indicate that the research will reveal positive ways Northampton Town schools are addressing diverse complex issues that may contribute to local children’s well-being, educational attainment and achievement.
